Onsite IT Support Technician
Confidential company is seeking a hands-on, customer-focused On-Site IT Support Technician to support their Buffalo Grove office and remote employees. This role involves providing desktop support, managing site infrastructure, and assisting with IT service management processes.

Responsibilities
Provide on-site and remote support for Windows and macOS desktops, laptops, mobile devices, printers, and peripherals
Troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues for both on-site and remote employees
Support Microsoft 365 applications including Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and SharePoint
Provide white-glove support to users during high-visibility onsite weeks
Image, deploy, and refresh PCs using standardized build processes
Support and assist with the transition to Microsoft Intune for endpoint management
Enroll, configure, and maintain devices within Intune and related security policies
Ensure endpoints comply with company security and configuration standards
Manage IT onboarding for new hires, including device setup, imaging, access provisioning, and orientation support
Execute offboarding procedures including access removal, device recovery, and asset updates
Coordinate with HR and IT teams to ensure timely and accurate user lifecycle management
Maintain and support local office infrastructure including network switches, wireless access points, cabling, and internet connectivity
Perform basic network troubleshooting (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN)
Provide remote hands support for centralized IT teams and vendors (rack/stack, cable tracing, equipment reboots, hardware replacements)
Support and maintain conference room and AV technology
Support the rollout, adoption, and ongoing management of a new IT ticketing system
Log, track, and resolve incidents and service requests in accordance with SLAs
Assist in developing workflows, documentation, and best practices within the ticketing platform
Document procedures, configurations, and common issues
Track and manage IT assets including laptops, desktops, monitors, and accessories
Maintain accurate inventory records and storage organization
Coordinate equipment shipping and logistics for remote employees
This role is primarily on-site in the Buffalo Grove office
Must be on-site one full week per month when Advancion corporate employees are in the office
Additional on-site presence may be required for projects, remote hands support, or urgent issues
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or similar
2+ years of hands-on IT support or desktop support experience
Strong experience with Windows environments
Experience with PC imaging and endpoint deployment
Familiarity with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, and/or Entra ID
Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi)
Experience supporting remote users and distributed teams
Strong customer service, communication, and documentation skills
Ability to work independently as the primary on-site IT resource
Preferred
Experience with Microsoft Intune or similar MDM platforms
Experience implementing or supporting IT ticketing systems (ServiceNow, Freshservice, Jira, etc.)
Exposure to Azure AD / Entra ID and endpoint security policies
IT certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft) a plus
