Responsibilities

Leads multi-dimensional effort to develop detailed planning, and real-time execution for the foreign and domestic travel program for the CDRUSTRANSCOM
Directly interacts with representatives at the highest levels of the United States government, foreign governments, and private industry, with particular emphasis on the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, Combatant Commanders, United States Embassies, and major United States corporations
Provides consultation and preparation to CDRUSTRANSCOM and travel team for each visit, based upon coordination with location(s) to be visited and other affected agencies
Prepares CDR USTRANSCOM and entourage for each visit or appearance based on input from staff offices, USTRANSCOM LNO Teams, and/or Service Major Commands
Provides expertise for HQ USTRANSCOM (and Component Commands) staff action officers on matters relating to General Officer/ Flag Officer travel. Assists with military airlift requests

The incumbent must obtain and/or maintain a Secret clearance
Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays
May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours and/or Shift work may be required which may include overtime and/or irregular hours
Specialized experience is defined as: Managing, planning, and maintaining long-term travel schedule for a Commander which include; trip preparations, itinerary development, travel (including airlift management), ground transportation, lodging, security arrangements, protocol, and foreign clearance requirements coordinating and scheduling briefings, office calls, speeches, press conferences, and social functions associated with a Commander's travel events. Organizing trip preparation meetings for personnel including officer and enlisted aides, country desk officers, public affairs, protocol, Dept of State Political Officer (POLAD), medical, security personnel and all others as directed by the CDR and/or direct level executive staff
You may substitute education for the following grade levels: GS-09: I have 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education or master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as LL.B. or J.D), from an accredited college or university. Education is also in a related business or Human Resources field
GS-11: I have 3 full academic years of progressively higher level graduate education of Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, from an accredited college or university

GRADUATE EDUCATION: One academic year of graduate education is considered to be the number of credits hours that your graduate school has determined to represent one academic year of full-time study. Such study may have been performed on a full-time or part-time basis. If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study
Foreign education may be qualifying if a private organization specializing in interpreting foreign education programs has deemed the foreign education equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program or a U.S. accredited college or university has given full credit for the foreign courses
Unofficial transcripts from U.S. Department of Education accredited colleges, universities, schools, or institutions listing your name, the name of the school, the date and degree awarded, and the list of classes and credits earned are acceptable for the application process. If selected, official transcripts are required before a firm job offer is made. A photocopy of your degree/diploma is not acceptable
When relying on foreign education, submit transcripts and a copy of the equivalency evaluation results letter with a course-by-course listing. Documents must be in English or include an English translation
