Director, Early Learning Program Services
NEOGOV is seeking a Director for their Early Learning Program Services. Responsibilities
Anticipates significant educational changes, national, state, and local trends, and changes in regulations for the purpose of supporting services and systems that lead to child and family school readiness, the delivery of high-quality comprehensive services to children and families and the implementation of gap- closing strategies
Collaborates with a wide variety of internal and external partners on a range of issues (e.g. PSESD departments/program staff, site providers, community organizations, public agencies, etc.) to identify appropriate actions, develop recommendations, support staff, and/or serve as the program representative for the purpose of directing the agency’s early learning strategy and program
Compiles data from a wide variety of sources (e.g. staff, public agencies, government reports, national education leaders and networks, community-based organizations, etc.) for the purpose of analyzing issues, evaluating the effectiveness of early learning programs, ensuring compliance with various policies and procedures, providing direction and informing agency’s leadership
Directs the design and implementation of the Early Learning program and services for the purpose of coordinating program/operations systems, services, and activities, including budget development, and ensuring compliance with established state and federal financial, legal and/or administrative requirements
Directs the development and monitoring of long- and short-range plans, programs, policies, systems, and processes for the purpose of strengthening program capacity, and delivering services in conformance with program goals, established guidelines, state and/or federal regulations
Leads a variety of meetings (e.g. workshops, inter and intra district committees, community and public agencies, seminars, conferences, etc.) for the purpose of conveying and gathering information on a wide variety of subjects required to carry out responsibilities
Presents information on a variety of topics related to program responsibilities (e.g. financial information, overviews of programs/services, policies, and procedures, etc.) for the purpose of providing general information, training others, implementing actions
Provides consultation and support to PSESD Early Learning program to subcontractors/administrators for the purpose of assisting them in their supervisory and leadership roles
Responds to a wide variety of inquiries of staff, district personnel, other professional organizations, etc., for the purpose of resolving problems, providing information and/or referring to appropriate personnel
Serves on committees (e.g. PSESD, regional, state, and local, etc.) for the purpose of evaluating situations, identifying appropriate actions, and/or developing recommendations
Supervises personnel (e.g., provide coaching and consultation on technical issues, adaptive challenges, personnel matters, strategic opportunities, career goals, professional development, job performance, etc.) for the purpose of advancing the development of effective leaders and high performing teams and achieving agency and departmental objectives
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Education, Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Social Services, Health/Nutrition, or a related field
Recent professional experience working in positions of leadership within the Early Learning community
Experience in data use for practice improvement
Experience in design and delivery of services/programs serving young children and their families
Preferred
Experience in development and management of large, complex budgets
Experience supervising/leading diverse groups around common goals
Experience with or knowledge of performance standards for Head Start and ECEAP
Experience with systems and outcomes development
