Responsibilities
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of investor reporting
Perform monthly general ledger account analysis and prepare journal entries and accruals as needed
Reconcile capitalized expenses, including on real estate development projects
Partner with internal Property Managers & Asset Managers to ensure accuracy of monthly/quarterly reporting
Prepare and submit monthly reporting packages to investors
Perform variance analysis between properties’ actual operating performance versus budget
Analyze and prepare closing entries for real estate acquisitions, dispositions, and financings
Perform cash management functions, and research & resolve issues as needed
Assist in the annual budget preparation process
Provide support for auditors by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries
Review operating and tax expense reconciliations as required by governing documents (leases, management agreement, etc.)
Take on special projects on an as needed basis
Qualification
Required
Ability to meet regular deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Organized, with close attention to detail
Excellent analytical skills and an ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with management and peers
Self-starter who enjoys problem solving
Ability to work independently and effectively within a team
Strong MS Excel skills required
Bachelor's degree and a minimum of two years of experience in commercial real estate accounting or audit
Preferred
Yardi experience is preferred
