Manufacturing Operations Engineer

Responsibilities

Support integrated product teams (IPTs) by setting up and maintaining Bills of Materials (BoMs), managing internal & external manufacturing-related activities, and maintaining external supplier relationships
Interface with Quality Engineering to ensure that products and non-products are compliant with company quality procedures and to disposition any non-conforming material
Serve as interface between purchasing, design, manufacturing, and quality
Set and execute project schedules, provide weekly status, and determine solutions for non-conformances
Interact with suppliers & document lessons learned for improved design-for-manufacturing

Required

2 to 5 years of related or similar turbomachinery, gas engine experience, jet engine, automotive and the like
Basic understanding of project and manufacturing engineering to support projects with requirements related to manufactured hardware
Understanding of fundamentals of turbomachinery and importance of interfacing rotating/static hardware as it relates to engine operation
Ability to interpret models & drawings (CAD skills preferable)
Ability to work with suppliers to define and document requirements, address technical concerns, and provide project status
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to make technical presentations internally and to customers
BS/MS in Mechanical Engineering
Minimum 2 to 5 years of similar engine experience, automotive, jet engines, or related field

Preferred

A background in metallurgy, joining operations, coatings, and additive manufacturing techniques are a plus but can be learned on the job
