The Associate Director of Sourcing will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards while leading a high-performing team.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for ingredients, packaging, and contract manufacturing aligned with business priorities
Build and maintain a strong global supplier network, including qualifications, audits, and ongoing performance management
Lead supplier negotiations, contracts, and cost optimization initiatives without compromising quality or safety
Ensure sourcing practices meet or exceed FDA, AAFCO, FSMA, cGMP, and other applicable regulatory and quality standards
Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to manage ingredient specifications, COAs, traceability, and supplier compliance
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks (availability, pricing volatility, geopolitical, quality, etc.)
Collaborate with R&D and cross functional teams on new ingredient sourcing, innovation, and reformulations
Support Operations and Planning with demand forecasting, capacity planning, and supply continuity
Provide clear sourcing insights and recommendations to executive leadership
Strong analytical skills with the ability to support the development of annual budgeting and monthly cogs reporting
Knowledge of cost modelling and managing budgets
Mentor and lead a high-performing sourcing team
Create and manage scalable sourcing processes, tools, and KPIs aligned with business priorities
Qualification
Required
8–12+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, or supply chain, with at least 2–3 years in a people leadership role
Strong knowledge of food-grade ingredient sourcing, supplier qualification, and regulatory requirements
Proven ability to negotiate complex supplier agreements and manage strategic vendor relationships
Experience with international sourcing and global suppliers
Experience sourcing ingredients for pet food, animal nutrition, human supplements, food, or nutraceuticals
Familiarity with sustainability, traceability, and ethical sourcing initiatives
Experience in creating and managing strategic supplier relationship management (SRM) programs
Knowledge of packaging and ingredient sourcing
Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience operating in a fast-paced results driven environment
Excellent project management and communication skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
Strong analytical skills and a positive can-do attitude is a must
