As the Agency Development Manager, you will identify and manage relationships with independent agents and brokerages, ensuring effective onboarding and activation of new producers.

Responsibilities

Identify and recruit high-performing commercial lines agencies and brokers who specialize in our core and adjacent verticals (self-storage, light industrial, marinas, hangars, etc)

Lead the appointment process. After signing producer agreements; you’ll train producers on how to use the SafeLease portal to quote and bind business in minutes and ensure they are successfully utilizing our platform and understand our appetite

Act as the primary point of contact for our producer partners. Conduct regular account reviews, provide appetite updates, and gather feedback to improve our product. Be hyper responsive to their needs and obsessed with making them successful working with SafeLease

Educate producers on our insurance products and technology advantage — showing them how our data-driven underwriting and faster turnaround times leads to better pricing and faster commissions for them

Own the entire pipeline from initial submission through to bind. You will partner closely with our underwriters to ensure high-quality risks are being prioritized

Build distribution/referral relationships with our existing property management customers and other relevant industry parties

Required

5+ years in insurance distribution, agency management, or wholesale brokerage

Active surplus lines producer license is required (or relevant surplus lines experience)

Strong commercial property insurance contacts and know how to navigate the hierarchy of a large brokerage

Understanding of commercial P&C fundamentals
