Responsibilities
Manage user account life cycle (creation, provisioning, updates, inactivation)
Ensure security for Epic’s electronic health record, including planning, testing, and updates
Serve as a subject matter expert for Epic User Security and Schedulable Epic Resources
Assist with application updates, special updates, and evaluation of new technology and functionality
Troubleshoot security and workflow issues in collaboration with Information Systems teams
Develop, implement, and support Role-Based Access Controls (RBAC)
Ensure proper documentation and archiving of evidence of authorization
Enforce organizational policies to ensure compliance with security standards
Identify and recommend process improvements for better efficiency and accuracy
Participate in auditing and risk assessments and implement recommendations
Disable dormant accounts/records and eliminate unnecessary access
Facilitate security planning and support Epic implementations in project teams
Provide guidance on best practices for Epic security configurations
Develop and maintain detailed system access and security documentation
Generate reports to analyze and resolve Epic security-related issues
Assist with the enrollment of Haiku, Canto, and Electronic Prescribing of Controlled Substances (EPCS)
Manage Epic browser URL and activity allow lists
Complete daily standard work, reporting, and communication to ensure smooth operations
Staff a 24x7 on-call rotation to ensure ongoing operations and security
Support Epic Application template build processes
Qualification
Required
Certification in Epic Security and a Bachelor's degree
Knowledge of Epic security provisioning (templates, security classes, user roles, profiles)
Experience with Epic user and provider record management
Experience in managing Epic security for system updates and new modules, including Epic application template build
Experience with Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and Identity Governance
Proven ability to troubleshoot security and workflow issues independently or in collaboration
Strong understanding of system configurations, security standards, and audit processes
Ability to create detailed documentation and provide guidance to less experienced analysts
Preferred
Knowledge of Active Directory, ServiceNow, SailPoint, IDM, and MD Staff is a plus
