Assistant Research Professor
New Jersey Institute of Technology is seeking an Assistant Research Professor to provide leadership in heliophysics and solar physics research. The role focuses on maintaining and growing externally funded research, developing advanced analysis pipelines, and increasing student engagement in data-intensive research.

Maintain and grow externally funded research in helioseismic diagnostics and flare/particle-beam physics
Develop and operationalize advanced analysis pipelines (e.g., helioseismic travel-time and power-map products) that support forecasting and fundamental research)
Increase student engagement in data-intensive research aligned with NJIT’s strategic priorities in computational science, data-driven discovery, and space-weather resilience
Qualification
Required
PhD in applied physics
At the university's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be exempted where the candidate can demonstrate to the satisfaction of the university, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position
Preferred
Experience in solar/space physics, helioseismology, space mission data analysis, supercomputer modeling
