Responsibilities
Acquaint students with the great works of theatre through reading and producing them
Prepare students for professional careers in acting and technology and/or admission to graduate schools
Convey the skills necessary to promote theatre as a means of enhancing culture and community
Assist students in developing the skills necessary to participate in global theatre opportunities through studies of histories and cultures of selected people participating in plays, and meetings with dramatists, actors, artists and intellectuals from other countries and cultures
Qualification
Required
The successful candidate must hold a terminal degree in Fine Arts, MFA or PhD
The candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Dedication and passion for teaching
Enjoy working collaboratively and collegially with colleagues
Preferred
Preference will be given to candidates with more than five years of college teaching experience
Professional costume design experience
Candidates should have an established national portfolio of scholarly and creative activity in the theatre arts
Affiliation with the Actor's Equity Association or the Screen Actors Guild is desirable
