Manager, Compensation- Ops & Strategy
AAA The Auto Club Group is seeking a Manager, Compensation Ops & Strategy to oversee day-to-day operations of the compensation function. This role involves managing a team of compensation consultants and partnering with senior leadership to execute compensation strategies and initiatives, ensuring operational effectiveness and compliance.

Responsibilities
Manage and oversee the day-to-day activities of the compensation operations and team to ensure quality, accuracy, and timeliness of deliverables
Lead, coach, and develop a team of compensation consultants, providing direction, workload prioritization, and quality oversight of deliverables
Partner with senior compensation leadership to provide input into enterprise compensation strategies, annual priorities, and the multi-year compensation roadmap
Translate compensation strategy into actionable plans, managing the execution of compensation initiatives, projects, and operational deliverables
Drive continuous process improvement by identifying inefficiencies, standardizing workflows, and implementing scalable compensation practices
Manage compensation projects from planning through delivery, ensuring milestones, timelines, and stakeholder expectations are met
Manage the compensation intake process, ensuring timely and accurate responses to HR and business inquiries
Provide consultative support to HR and business leaders on compensation-related requests, including job evaluations, pay actions, and program interpretation
Ensure smooth execution of annual and off-cycle compensation processes, including salary reviews, market pricing, job evaluations, and incentive processing
Ensure adherence to compensation governance, internal controls, and regulatory requirements in partnership with Legal, Finance, HRIS, and other stakeholders
Analyze compensation data and trends to support recommendations, operational decisions, and continuous improvement efforts
Supervise and develop a team of compensation analysts; assign workload, review deliverables, and provide training and coaching
Qualification
Required
Bachelor degree in Business, Sales, Marketing or a related field
8-10 years of progressive experience in compensation to include 4 years managing or leading a team
Proven experience managing annual compensation cycles, market pricing, job evaluation, and incentive programs
Proficient experience with HR systems such as Workday, MarketPay, or similar platforms
Managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Drive process improvements and lead cross-functional initiatives
Strong knowledge of compensation operations, practices and principles to include job evaluation, FLSA classification, and incentive administration to manage the daily execution of compensation functions and team
Strong knowledge of compensation regulatory requirements
Proficiency with compensation management systems and HRIS platforms to include Workday
Strong understanding of end-to-end compensation workflows with an eye for operational efficiency and quality control
Strong project management, analytical, and communication skills
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and provide actionable insights
Excellent leadership skills to include the ability to lead, develop, and motivate a team toward high performance and accountability
Skilled in planning, organizing, and managing team-level and cross-functional compensation projects
Proactive in identifying issues and proposing scalable, sustainable solutions
Comfortable working with large datasets, identifying trends, and ensuring data accuracy
Clear and effective communicator with the ability to explain complex topics to non-experts and collaborate across departments
Able to prioritize and manage multiple competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proficient in Excel and compensation systems (e.g., Workday, MarketPay, or other HRIS tools)
High level of accuracy and focus when managing compensation data, reports, and processes
Strong service mindset with the ability to support and advise HR and business partners effectively
