Lead Analytics Solutions Engineer

Responsibilities
Design, develop, and optimize complex, scalable data pipelines to ingest data from enterprise systems such as Workday, Slate, facilities management, parking and transit, housing, and other institutional platforms
Build and maintain data solutions within Microsoft Fabric, including lakehouse, warehouse, and semantic model components as appropriate
Implement robust data transformation logic to produce high-quality, reliable, and well-modeled datasets for analytics and reporting
Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and institutional data partners to define data models and integration strategies
Monitor, troubleshoot, and continuously improve pipeline performance, reliability, and cost efficiency
Implement and enforce data quality checks, validation rules, and error-handling mechanisms
Ensure compliance with data governance, security, access control, and privacy standards
Serve as a technical leader by conducting code reviews, providing meaningful technical guidance, and helping plan and distribute work based on team capacity and priorities
Produce clear, concise, and easily interpretable technical documentation to support ongoing development and operations
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education
Advanced knowledge of ETL/ELT design and development in modern data platforms as evidenced by application materials
Strong code analysis, debugging, and performance optimization skills as evidenced by application materials
Experience ingesting, transforming, and managing large and complex datasets
Demonstrated ability to anticipate, identify, and mitigate data quality and pipeline reliability issues as evidenced by application materials
Working knowledge of change data capture (CDC) concepts and implementation as evidenced by application materials
Solid understanding of design principles, including normalization and dimensional design as evidenced by application materials
Proven track record of success in data engineering or related technical data roles
Preferred
Experience serving in a technical lead or senior engineering role
Cloud-based data development experience, preferably using Microsoft Azure and/or Microsoft Fabric
Experience ingesting and transforming Workday-sourced data
Familiarity with distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Spark)
Basic understanding of data governance concepts, including data stewardship, metadata management, and access controls
Experience supporting analytics and reporting tools such as Power BI
