Responsibilities

Coordinate scheduling of resources and tests to maximize lab utilization while meeting project deadlines and communicating them to (primarily internal) customers
Lead and mentor a team of technicians and engineers, providing guidance, training, and support as needed
Manage inventory of testing equipment, including procurement, maintenance, and retirement planning
Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations, implementing necessary policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment
Ensure compliance with audits such as ISO 17025
Monitor project progress, identify potential issues, and implement solutions to ensure successful project completion
Foster a collaborative and productive work environment, promoting teamwork and professional development
Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members to drive continuous improvement
Implement quality control measures to ensure accuracy, reliability, and consistency of test results
Review test data and reports to verify compliance with project requirements and specifications
Continuously assess and improve testing procedures and methodologies to enhance efficiency and effectiveness
Evaluate new technologies and equipment upgrades, recommending investments to enhance lab capabilities

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 7+ years' relevant experience
Experience in laboratory management; industrial or research setting
Proven project management abilities, including the ability to prioritize tasks, allocate resources, and meet deadlines
Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to effectively manage teams and collaborate with diverse stakeholders
Attention to detail and a commitment to quality, with the ability to troubleshoot problems and implement solutions in a timely manner
Familiarity with relevant standards and regulations, such as IEEE, IEC, ANSI, and NFPA

Preferred

High voltage experience, nice to have
Understanding of electrical engineering principles, particularly in the areas of high voltage systems and insulating materials, nice to have
