Responsibilities

Examines and analyzes data submitted by and/or on behalf of each applicant for RN and APRN licensure for accuracy, authenticity, and completeness of information to document determination of eligibility and qualification for licensure and prepares the file
Receives, analyzes, and verifies the authenticity of diplomas, certifications, and licenses submitted by applicants, institutions, and/or other licensing authorities
Conducts pre-licensure investigations of each applicant for eligibility and/or qualifications for licensure
Schedules and coordinates all aspects of the requisite interviews of applicants. Records findings and recommendations and prepares official record for each applicant for presentation to and consideration by the RN staff of the Board, as applicable, for which further approval is required
Researches records, makes requests and responds to requests for information to/from entities that include professional organizations, hospital administrators, health care entities, providers, federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies, other federal, state and local officials, general public, and other licensing and/or certification entities relative to applicants, statutes, rules and regulations and other public information
Participates in performance improvement activities, continually improving all processes as opportunities for improvement arise

Required

Three years of experience in the issuance, maintenance, or reinstatement of licenses; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field; OR
A bachelor's degree
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field
