STEM Workforce Development Specialist
The Desert Research Institute is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a full-time Workforce Development Specialist. This role involves assisting with workforce development programs, curriculum creation, and overseeing STEM equipment, focusing on engaging K-12 students and community members in STEM learning.
Responsibilities
Oversee logistics for STEM Force program, which includes: arranging the curriculum for the program under supervisor oversight, identifying potential speakers and field trip locations, and identifying and managing supplies needed for the duration of the program
Present STEM topics and run hands-on activities for workforce development participants including, but not limited to: K-12 students, at-risk youth, community members
Assist with workforce development programs. Identify needed scheduling, assist with promotion and the development of promotional items
Oversee technology equipment check-outs and returns, contact participants for status as needed, and manage inventory as well as prep and return of equipment
Qualification
Required
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year of related experience
Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge of STEM education practices and materials
Passion for STEM Education
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including public speaking
Excellent organizational and time management skills
