Responsibilities
Develop end‑to‑end solution architectures across application, data, integration, and infrastructure layers
Translate business requirements into technical designs that are scalable, secure, and maintainable
Lead architecture reviews, design sessions, and technical decision‑making
Define integration patterns, data flows, and API strategies across systems and platforms
Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, cloud strategies, and security frameworks
Serve as a trusted advisor to product teams, engineering leads, and business stakeholders
Provide guidance on technology selection, design tradeoffs, and architectural best practices
Review vendor deliverables, technical specifications, and solution designs for quality and compliance
Identify technical risks and propose mitigation strategies
Partner with program managers, business analysts, and developers to ensure cohesive solution delivery
Facilitate communication between business and technical teams, translating complex concepts into accessible language
Support procurement activities by contributing to technical requirements, evaluation criteria, and vendor assessments
Contribute to the development and enforcement of architectural standards, patterns, and guardrails
Ensure solutions adhere to security, privacy, and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, state or federal policies as applicable)
Promote best practices in cloud architecture, DevOps, data management, and integration
Qualification
Required
7–10+ years of experience in solution architecture, enterprise architecture, or technical leadership roles
Strong understanding of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP), API management, microservices, and integration technologies
Experience designing solutions in complex, distributed, or multi‑vendor environments
Proficiency in data architecture, security principles, and modern application design patterns
Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences
Preferred
Experience in public‑sector modernization, large enterprise transformation, or regulated environments
Background with health and human services systems, MMIS, MES, or healthcare data standards
Certifications such as TOGAF, SAFe, AWS/Azure Architect, or similar
Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, containerization, and infrastructure‑as‑code
Experience with Medicaid, MMIS/MES modularity, or large health and human services systems
Familiarity with CMS interoperability standards, MITA maturity concepts, or multi‑vendor ecosystem integration
