Responsibilities
Draft patent applications and prosecute patent applications before the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO)
Analyze scientific or technical documents, including previously published patent documents, to assess an invention or issued patent
Draft detailed descriptions of inventions in precise legal terms (patent drafts), which form the basis for patents to be granted by patent offices in various parts of the world
Communicate and act as a liaison between inventors and the Patent & Trademark Office in connection with all aspects of the patent application process
Discuss scientific aspects of inventions with clients and inventors
Keep up to date with legal developments in the intellectual property field
Work closely with lawyers to support patent litigation, perform due diligence, and support other legal activities
Qualification
Required
Must have a degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, or an equivalent discipline
Patent prosecution experience in 5G, Wi-Fi, or other wireless technologies
Admitted to practice before the USPTO
Preferred
Relevant experience in one of the following technologies: memory systems, image processing, RF front-end, autonomous vehicles, robotics, natural language processing, computer vision, or related AI fields is a plus
