Responsibilities
Lead the design, modeling, and experimental validation of LiDAR sensors and precision optics
Optimize optical architectures using sequential and non-sequential ray-tracing tools (e.g., Zemax, LightTools, or Speos)
Design high-precision lenses and validate the seamless integration of optical components
Develop detailed ray-tracing models for sophisticated LiDAR scanners (multi-beam, scanning mechanisms, and detectors) while assembling and aligning electro-optical setups
Simulate environmental interactions to produce accurate 3D point cloud data for algorithm verification and system validation
Script custom simulation tools in Python or other languages for error budgeting and performance analysis
Execute experimental measurements and data acquisition to drive iterative design improvements and technical reporting
Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Qualification
Required
Master's degree with 3+ years experience or PhD in Physics, Optical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
3+ years in automotive semiconductor or sensor industries, focused on optical system design and manufacturing
Solid background in physics, optics, and applied mathematics
Proven expertise in optical design, modeling, and experimental validation
