Publications/Correspondence Program Coordinator

The N.C. Department of Information Technology is seeking a Publications/Correspondence Program Coordinator to oversee the coordination and consultation of publications and correspondence appeals for offenders. The role involves logging, distributing, and tracking publications and appeals, as well as providing written notifications regarding the status of Category II Publications.

Responsibilities

This position will report to the Security Accountability Section
This position will be responsible for statewide consultation and coordination of Category II publications, appealed Category I publications and all Correspondence Appeals for Offenders
This position will receive, log, and distribute publications and correspondences that the offenders are appealing to the designated review committee members as well as coordinating the return of the response along with the publication back to the sending facility
This position is responsible for tracking all appeals sent to the General Counsels office
This position will be responsible for providing notifications to all facilities and offenders in writing detailing the status of all Category II Publications

Required

Bachelor's degree from appropriately accredited institution and one year of experience related to the area of assignment; or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Preferred

Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures of the Prisons section
Demonstrated experience to set priorities and coordinate workflow
Demonstrated experience to organize and process information utilizing spreadsheets and word documents
Demonstrated experience to develop clear and concise reports
Demonstrated experience to communicate effectively orally and in writing with program or division staff and contracting agencies and the public
Demonstrated experience to establish and maintain an effective relationship with Offenders, Offenders' families, and a variety of professional and paraprofessional personnel
Experience reviewing Offender Publications
