Responsibilities
Perform weekly inventory of supplies and identify purchasing needs for non-maintenance items
Participate in quarterly and yearly inventories
Research potential vendors
Obtain missing packing slips and/or invoices from vendors
Work with division controller and accounting assistant on special projects/jobs
Backup parts clerk
Track and monitor purchases, from initial order to delivery and/or not invoiced
Update internal databases with order details (dates, vendors, quantities, discounts)
Conduct market research to identify pricing trends
Evaluate offers from current and potential vendors and negotiate better prices
Build relationships with current and new vendors
Prepare cost analysis
Prepare monthly reports listing all purchases, returns and related costs
Maintain and update records of invoices, contracts and all vendor information
Catalog and maintain master list of plant supplies and office supplies
Work with receiving and accounts payable on open items
Monitor open PO receipts report
Maintain and balance ROD spreadsheet
Prepare daily MRO report
Follow up with suppliers, as needed, to confirm or change orders
Liaise with warehouse staff to ensure all products arrive in good condition
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED certificate
1+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or other administrative roles
Good understanding of supply chain procedures
Hands-on experience with purchasing software
Advanced knowledge of MS Excel
Knowledge of market research
Strong communication skills
Solid organizational skills
Reliable transportation to go between both Elkhart plants
Willingness to work additional hours as needed
Preferred
Associate or bachelor's in Logistics, Business Administration or relevant field
