Network & Telecommunication Senior Analyst

Responsibilities
Lead the design, implementation, maintenance, and optimization of the Police Department and City’s network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and security systems
Serve as a technical lead for complex network initiatives, ensuring high availability, security, resiliency, and performance across enterprise environments
Drive network architecture planning and long-term strategy to support scalability, modernization, and future growth
Provide advanced troubleshooting and problem resolution for critical network issues and outages
Establish and maintain network standards, documentation, and best practices, ensuring consistency and compliance
Mentor and provide technical guidance to network and IT staff, fostering knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
Stay current with emerging networking and security technologies and proactively recommend improvements
Qualification
Required
A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
4 years of experience in network design and administration, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role
A valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record
Or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
Preferred
Extensive experience designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise network infrastructure, including routing, switching, firewalls, WAN, wireless, and high-availability architectures in mission-critical environments
Strong expertise in network security and secure network design, including VPNs, firewall technologies, and hands-on experience with Palo Alto Networks firewalls
Experience supporting Cisco and other networking platforms in production environments, with the ability to troubleshoot complex, multi-layer network issues
Familiarity with public sector, public safety, or other highly available and regulated environments
Strong communication, documentation, and technical leadership skills, with demonstrated ability to work independently, collaborate effectively, and evaluate emerging technologies to improve performance, security, and operational efficiency
