Kinship Foster Care Certification Support Supervisor - 162107
Adams County Government is seeking a Kinship Foster Care Certification Support Supervisor to oversee kinship care and foster care services. The role involves supervising staff, ensuring compliance with regulations, and collaborating with community partners to promote safe and stable family-based care.
Government Administration
Responsibilities
Provides leadership, coaching, and supervision to staff through individual meetings, team meetings, problem-solving, and mentoring
Reviews, edits, and revises training curricula and orientation materials for kinship and foster families
Reads, reviews, and approves home study reports in conjunction with manager and provides guidance and direction
Ensures compliance with Volume VII rules, foster care certification requirements, kinship regulations, and QRTP placement processes
Oversees placement coordination, census tracking, placement availability, and rate approvals
Oversees school stability
Consults with caseworkers and supervisors regarding placement options, service requests, and case direction
Ensures kinship placement options are explored prior to non-relative placements
Negotiates and monitors contracts for out-of-home services, including in-state and out-of-state placements
Analyzes and reports data related to placements, workload, compliance, and program outcomes
Develops and updates agency policies and procedures related to kinship care, foster care, and placement services
Collaborates with community, faith-based, and contracted partners and serves as liaison between providers and agency staff
Participates in local and statewide committees, workgroups, and foster and kinship care meetings
Facilitates RED (Review, Evaluate, Direct) teams and participates in review processes
Resolves informal complaints and grievances
Provides coverage for other supervisors as needed

Performs other related duties and responsibilities as required
Qualification
Required
Ability to lead and supervise staff using coaching and mentoring techniques
Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and data analysis skills
Working knowledge of child welfare practices, including trauma-informed care
Familiarity with and knowledge of state laws/regulations including Colorado children's Code, agency policies and procedures, and agency, county and state memos
Knowledge of federal laws, regulations, procedures and requirements regarding health and welfare of children
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Proficiency with the Trails system and ability to learn other agency systems
Ability to work in potentially stressful situations and utilize de-escalation techniques
Skilled in negotiation and able to work towards resolution of differences in an objective manner
Use of a personal vehicle for local and regional travel
Work creatively and positively to enhance outcomes for children, youth and families
Demonstrate leadership capabilities and an understanding of servant leadership
Provide vision, guidance, coaching and direction to the team members
Four (4) years of full-time professional social casework experience acquired after the degree in a public or private social services agency
Bachelor's degree in one of the human behavioral science fields
A Bachelor's of Social Work may substitute for one year of the required experience
A Master of Social Work may substitute for two years of the required experience
Must be eligible to become a certified supervisor through the State Child Welfare Academy or already be certified
Ability to become SAFE Home Study Supervisor Certification and maintenance of certification
Possession of a valid Colorado Driver's License and proof of automotive insurance
Must pass a criminal background check
Ability to obtain, maintain, and ensure continued access to state and county systems in compliance with regulations
