Responsibilities

You will be part of a 12-person Engineering team consisting of mechanical, electrical, and architectural engineers that works closely with the customer in delivering quality products and services to the fleet
Serve as a Mechanical engineer in the Planning Yard with primary focus on the LCU 1700 program. You may be called upon to support other programs as needed
Develop and revise installation and alteration drawings for the LCU 1700 program to support availabilities, Craft Change Documents (CCDs), and Liaison Action Requests (LARs)
Review and/or develop design changes and their incorporation in engineering drawings and schematics
Edit new and revised technical manuals
Create, revise, and review Technical Manual Deficiency/Evaluation Reports (TMDERs)
Maintain a 3-D CAD ShipConstructor model database for the LCU 1700 class
Provide technical troubleshooting and review of new component designs
Maintain workload and respond to tasking within the schedule and technical requirements identified in the Integrated Data Environment (IDE)
Travel to shipyards and perform on-site craft inspections to verify craft configuration and currency with documentation
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned

Required

Bachelor's degree in Engineering plus 2 years of relevant work experience. In some cases, educational requirements may be adjusted or waived for more than 6 years of relevant work experience
You must be able to obtain and maintain an active DoD clearance post-employment
Proficiency in AutoCAD is required
Knowledge of engineering principles, methods, and techniques within a specific area of expertise
Knowledge of relevant tools, equipment, hardware, and software
Effective organization level communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs, MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
This position requires travel to shipyards 2-4 times per year to conduct craft inspections. Must be able to climb ladders, stairs, and work in small spaces when conducting inspections on the craft
10% travel required for this role

Preferred

Prior experience working in engineering in the Navy or Marine Industry, while not required is desired
Knowledge of SolidWorks or ShipConstructor 3D modeling program is highly desired
