Responsibilities
Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business and functional requirements
Conduct stakeholder interviews, workshops, and requirement-gathering sessions
Develop business requirement documents (BRD), functional requirement documents (FRD), use cases, process flows, and data flow diagrams
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure accurate translation of requirements into system design and solutions
Support system testing, UAT, and defect tracking to ensure solutions meet business needs
Assist with change management, impact analysis, and process improvement initiatives
Act as a liaison between business users and IT teams throughout the project lifecycle
Ensure compliance with VITA standards, policies, and state regulations
Provide ongoing documentation, reporting, and status updates to project leadership
Qualification
Required
Proven experience as a Business Analyst in IT projects
Strong requirements gathering and documentation skills
Experience working with SDLC methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid)
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with business process modeling and workflow analysis
Familiarity with public sector or state government IT environments preferred
Preferred
Prior experience working with VITA or State of Virginia agencies
Experience supporting enterprise systems, applications, or data-driven projects
Knowledge of compliance, governance, and regulatory standards in government IT
CBAP, CCBA, PMI-PBA, or similar certification is a plus
