Responsibilities
Lead full lifecycle delivery of GIS and software integration projects for utility clients, from initiation through closeout
Review project proposal materials to understand goals, deliverables, time frames, budgets, risks, and constraints, and define approaches to accomplish project objectives
Build and maintain detailed project plans covering scope, schedule, resource allocation, labor hours, billing forecasts, risks, issues, and mitigation and contingency plans
Coordinate assignment of project duties and responsibilities, and manage scope of authority across project team members
Direct and support project personnel to keep work on schedule and within budget, removing obstacles and escalating issues as needed
Apply standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation, ensuring consistent use of PMO methods and tools
Review status reports from project staff, update schedules and plans, and communicate changes to stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
At least seven years of experience in a project management capacity leading IT projects
Proven experience managing GIS system implementation and software integration projects, preferably with Esri based solutions
Experience delivering projects for external clients within the utility sector, with strong client-facing communication skills
Strong knowledge of project management standards, processes, techniques, and tools, including scope, schedule, cost, risk, and change management
Demonstrated experience in people management, including leading cross-functional teams and working with both technical and business stakeholders
Proven ability to handle strategic planning, risk management, conflict resolution, and change management in complex project environments
Preferred
Professional services or consulting organization experience, supporting multiple clients and concurrent projects
Direct project management experience with electric or gas utilities
Hands-on experience managing or supporting Esri GIS implementations that include Esri's Utility Network
Experience managing software development staff and working within the software development lifecycle, including test and release cycles
Familiarity with PMO environments, including standardized templates, governance, and portfolio-level reporting
