Responsibilities
Perform laboratory experiments and activities including: dissection, histology, molecular biology, cryostectioning, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence, in situ hybridization, RNA and DNA isolation, traditional PCR, quantitative PCR, mouse handling and procedures, mouse colony maintenance, agarose gel electrophoresis and genotyping, cell culture, and computer-based data analysis
Support and contribute to multiple projects in the laboratory setting
Work with and train other lab members
Placing orders and maintaining financial balances with basic software
Present collected data at weekly group lab meetings and in one-on-one meetings with the lab director
Contribute figures and text to scientific posters and publications by laboratory members
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required
4 years of relevant experience required with High School diploma or GED
2 years of relevant experience required with Associate's Degree
0 years of relevant experience required with Bachelor's Degree
Successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening
Ability to bend, stoop and reach in order to perform many procedures
Ability to sit and stand for a duration of time
Color spectrum differentiation
Manual dexterity/motor coordination
Hand-eye coordination
Physical communications
Visual acuity and communication/language development
Exposure to bloodborne pathogens
Exposure to chemical hazards (skin irritants)
Use of sharp instruments
Occasional work during evenings and weekends may be required
