City of Apple Valley is seeking a Seasonal Parks Maintenance II - Irrigation to oversee the programming, installation, and repair of Parks irrigation systems. This role involves monitoring irrigation records, operating irrigation heads, and repairing the irrigation system as needed.

Responsibilities

Keeps rainfall ET and irrigation records
Operates irrigation heads in dry areas needing additional water
Monitors, inspects and cleans pumps and pump hose
Repairs the irrigation system, pipes and irrigation heads as needed
Completes requests for irrigation parts and supplies
Occasionally guides a small labor crew for special projects and performs other duties as directed by supervisor

Commercial irrigation experienceTurfgrass Management degreeEnjoy working outdoorsWork independently

Required

Must be at least 18 years of age by start of position
High School diploma or equivalent
Commercial irrigation system experience
Must enjoy working outside in all kinds of weather conditions
Ability to work independently
Valid driver's license and good driving record
With or without accommodations must have the ability to sit, stand, walk intermittently, bend and stoop

Preferred

Degree in Turfgrass Management or closely related field
