Southwest Gas Corporation is seeking a motivated intern to join their Investor Relations team for an 11-week paid internship. The intern will gain hands-on experience in financial analysis, strategic communications, and stakeholder engagement while assisting in preparing investor materials and analyzing industry trends.

Responsibilities

Assist in preparing quarterly earnings materials, including investor presentations, earnings call scripts, regulatory updates, and Q&A documents
Provide support for investor meetings, conferences, and non-deal roadshows by developing outreach materials, preparing briefing materials, coordinating logistics, and recording meeting notes
Monitor equity research analyst reports, sector news, and peer utility performance
Assist with board reports that provide updates on recent investor relations activity
Monitor credit rating reports and developments

Required

Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or related field
Must be in senior status or enrolled in a graduate program
Strong analytical and research skills with the ability to interpret financial statements, projections, and regulatory filings
Excellent communication skills with the ability to clearly translate technical finance concepts into concise data visualizations
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (financial modeling is a plus)
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks

Preferred

Interest in corporate finance, capital markets, and energy markets
Interest in energy markets is a plus
