Human Resources Director - Warsaw, IN or Minnetonka, MN
Legrand AV is seeking a Director of Human Resources who will provide leadership and strategic partnership on organizational development and HR policies. The role involves driving HR strategies, overseeing HR programs, and ensuring compliance with employment laws.
Responsibilities
Drive human resource strategies aligned with business goals, including workforce planning and future growth initiatives
Work with VP, Human Resources to construct annual HR business plan for supported organizations; determine initiatives, goals, and metrics; analyze and recommend strategies to improve effectiveness
Serve as an internal consultant and trusted partner to leaders, providing guidance on organizational design, team effectiveness and leadership coaching

Provide leadership to HR and people related initiatives by designing and executing on HR as well as cross-functional projects
Lead development and execution of key HR programs such as employee engagement, recruitment and retention, compensation and benefits, compliance, performance management and training
Work with Corporate and Division teams to ensure effective implementation of HR technology solutions
Proactively review and recommend changes to help drive continuous improvement
Stay current on labor laws, manage policy updates and represent the company in government inquiries and hearings
Craft, communicate, and educate policy information as laws indicate or as appropriate
Collaborate with the VP of HR on annual compensation planning, incentive programs, and benefits renewal aligned with budget processes
Provide leadership, coaching and performance management for HR team members, fostering professional growth and ensuring compliance with company policies and ethical standards
Effectively manage, develop, and motivate direct and indirect reports
Responsible for all aspects of performance management including interviewing, hiring, training, performance evaluations, and recognition
Provide effective, constructive and appropriate feedback and leadership to direct reports to foster positive, team atmosphere; ensure personal and professional development of direct reports
Initiate and assist with the creation, development, and implementation of processes and procedures
Consistently support compliance by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance, and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, and the Company’s policies and procedures
Understand workplace hazards and take steps to proactively prevent and report hazards or injuries in the workplace
Cooperate in safety programs, initiatives, and investigations

Qualification
Required
Proven knowledge and application of HR practices, principles and applicable employment laws and regulations
Proven ability to operate at a strategic level, with ability to deal with and influence senior leadership
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Excellent computer and HR systems skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, HRIS)
Proven ability to manage people; train and motivate employees, as well as delegate effectively
Must be able to function in a deadline driven environment
Proven ability to make sound decisions to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law
Excellent project management, planning, and organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage several projects at one time while providing high attention to details and excellent follow-through skills
Must possess high degree of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information
A bachelor's degree and ten (10) years progressive Human Resources experience, with at least three (3) years in leadership roles; or any appropriate combination of education and experience
Preferred
Professional or Senior Professional in Human Resources certification (PHR/SPHR and/or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP)
Multi-site/multi state experience preferred
