Financial Aid Counselor
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is dedicated to nurturing the next generation of leaders through a dynamic learning environment. The Financial Aid Counselor will manage reports associated with the Office of Financial Aid and serve as a point of contact for providing information about financial aid policies to students and families.
Responsibilities
Manage daily, weekly, and monthly reports associated with the Office of Financial Aid involving but not limited to awarding, residency, unusual enrollment, and student semester enrollment
Provide accurate and timely information about financial aid policies and procedures to current and prospective students, their families, and other campus visitors through individual meetings and outreach
Manage specialized aid programs, support compliance initiatives, or assist with outreach events
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience. All degrees must be received from appropriately accredited institutions
Experience in a higher education/student services setting, preferred Financial Aid
Knowledge of Federal and State Financial Aid Regulations and policies
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, and customer service as demonstrated by application materials, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) and Google Suite
Experience facilitating presentations and events for internal and external audiences, demonstrating strong public speaking and communication skills
Ability to critically think and independently problem solve, while exercising professional judgement to escalate to management when necessary
