Responsibilities

Responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of weekly and daily work plans and schedules on a real-time basis for Meter Operations. Monitors crew shifts, work orders/assignments and actual work while mobile workforce management crews are in the field and adjusts schedules and assignments as needed
Manages Projects as assigned, serving as point of contact and project manager
Work directly with customer service, contractors, and customers for coordination of work order process on new installations, upgrades, conversions, and electrical service relocations. Supports activities of other departmental teams and external customers to ensure overall team success
Performs review of technical metering submittals for interconnection, Primary voltage metering, High Rise Network Metering
Develop and present resolution recommendations for system design/application problems, propose new equipment evaluations, system performance measurements, and routine maintenance procedures
Perform inspections per specification requirements or oversee the activities to ensure all inspections and repairs are completed thoroughly and on schedule. Maintain department documents
Coordinates with vendors for next generation technologies for use and implementation at APS
Provide technical leadership in the direction and training of Polyphase Meterman in handling of more complex job and equipment
Maintain and update the Electric Service Requirements Manual and provide training accordingly. Approves drawings on service Entrance Sections, and may serve as a representative for the Metershop on the ESRM committee and EUSERC
Mentors other Meter Technical Specialists in coordination of daily work for the department.1
Evaluates policies, processes, and procedures, developing and initiating actions to improve or make corrections as needed
Coordinates with training department for apprentice scheduling and apprentice training content
Serves as the Designated Safety Observer on large scale projects to ensure safe execution of work practices on project. Which may include after hours and call out duties
Promote safety awareness and accident reductions through safety meetings, tailboards and implementation of safe work procedures and practices

Required

High school diploma/GED and minimum five (5) years related work experience, of which at least two (2) years experience must be in the Meter Technical Specialist role. In lieu of two (2) years experience as a Meter Technical Specialist, six (6) years of experience as an APS Polyphase Journeyman
Technical Expertise in metering systems, including design, installation, and troubleshooting
Analytical Skills to solve complex problems using meter theory and advanced analysis techniques
Project Leadership experience managing multiple projects and coordinating cross-functional teams
Strong Communication skills for customer interaction and collaboration with internal and external partners
Adaptability to work in both office and field environments
Commitment to Safety and Quality, ensuring compliance with APS standards

Preferred

Six (6) years as a APS Polyphase Journeyman
This position may require experience with rubber glove (RG) practices
Proficiency in computer skills, electronic theory, scientific math, circuit analysis, ESRM and NEC
Thorough knowledge of company safety rules and practices, and of the labor agreement, APS Construction Standards, Accident Prevention Manual and OSHA standards
Demonstrated high level of competence in leadership, decision making and planning/organizational skills
Must possess good communications and interpersonal skills
