Responsibilities

Design, analyze (including thermal considerations), simulate, and test power conversion circuitry potentially utilizing any standard non-isolated power conversion topologies (buck, boost, buck-boost) including modules and discrete designs
Guide Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) personnel through PWB layout of power circuitry and technical drawing creation
Perform design work within the bounds of a given schedule
Present reviews of technical data to program leadership and technical staff

Required

Must be pursuing a Bachelor's or graduate degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) major
This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor's (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum entering their Junior or Senior year by the start of summer 2026
Experience with any of the following non-isolated converter topologies: buck, boost, buck-boost
Experience with design, analysis, and test with analog electronic design and analysis, including FET, BJT, and/or Op-amp circuits
This position requires 12 months or less of relevant professional work experience (excluding internships)
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required
U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
Active and existing security clearance required after day 1

Preferred

Lab experience specific to power electronics and/or controls electronics
Demonstrated use of software tools for electrical circuit simulation and/or printed circuit board layout
Understanding of fundamental power conversion concepts, components, and techniques
Basic understanding of commonly used power converter and/or motor drive control schemes
Familiarity with circuit simulators such as SIMPLIS, Saber and/or analysis tool Mathcad
