Responsibilities
Separating the cost components of a building into their proper asset classifications and recovery periods
Identifying assets that were capitalized with improper tax lives
Help develop the vision, strategies, and action plans to grow Cherry Bekaert’s TCIA Practice
Be responsible for helping to manage internal resources and work on IRC Section 41 Research credit engagements
Identifying Qualified Research Expenses in a variety of industries
Calculate the IRC Section 41 Research Credit
Understand the Controlled Group rules in the research credit calculation
Speak to tax managers and tax VPs with respect to the research credit rules
Speak to technical company personnel with respect to technical uncertainties associated with their research
Lead and working with both local and national C/AM team members
Qualification
Required
Experience in Cost Segregation Services
Experience in R&D Tax Incentive Services
Experience in Fixed Asset Services
Experience in Site Selection Services
Experience in State Credits & Incentives
Experience in Employee Retention Credit Services
Experience in Energy Tax Consulting
Knowledge of Section 179D
Knowledge of Section 45L
Knowledge of Investment Tax Credit and Production Tax Credits
Knowledge of Inflation Reduction Act application-based incentives
