Great American Deli is a company that has been providing fresh-made food products for over 60 years, and they are seeking an experienced Account Manager to join their sales team. Responsibilities

Manage major accounts within the region and coordinate the management of all other accounts
Develop and implement both short- and long-range goals and objectives for each account
Liaison with Distributors and Retailers - responsible for communicating up to date information on new products and product/packaging changes
Provide customer information as needed to internal sales team, accounts receivable, and controller
Develop and manage sales budgets
Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of sales efforts
Utilize market specific data to develop strategies and plans which identify sales opportunities, support, and implement sales plan for new project development
Researching and understanding the competitor landscape
Plan and coordinate company sales functions and participate in distributor, retailer, and industry Trade Shows as needed
Oversee the preparation, issuance, and delivery of sales materials, displays, exhibits, and promotional programs

Required

Minimum of 3 years of experience selling to and managing both retail and wholesale customers (preferably in the food industry)
Demonstrable skill in account management and new business development
Experience analyzing sales data and creating sales strategy
Must be a self-starter with the ability to successfully work and achieve goals with a minimum amount of direction and possess a 'strong planning skill' to manage business in defined territory
Position requires travel up to 75% of the time to meet with customers, overnight travel will be required, occasional weekends will be required due to trade-show schedules
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office -- Excel, Outlook, Word and PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills, and ability to work with a diverse staff and customer base
Operation of company-owned vehicle is required (Motor Vehicle Report required for successful candidate)

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, but not required – related experience will be considered in lieu of education
Selling to and managing retail and wholesale customers: 3 years
Willingness to travel: 75%
