CHIEF ENGINEER
Legends Bay Casino is seeking a Chief Engineer to oversee the safe and efficient operation of facility systems within the casino and restaurant environment. This role involves managing the maintenance team, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining all gaming and food service areas in excellent working condition.

Responsibilities
Manage, train, and schedule the Engineering Team to ensure adequate coverage across all operational hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required
Oversee and perform preventive and corrective maintenance for building systems including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, kitchen equipment, landscaping, lighting, and audio/visual equipment
Ensure compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal regulations, including health department standards, fire and life safety codes, and OSHA regulations
Develop and administer the department's long and short-range plans for maintaining, upgrading, and modernizing the facility
Work in conjunction with construction projects that may impact the facilities day-to-day operations, and maintain accurate records of inspections, work orders, equipment maintenance, and regulatory documentation
Manage maintenance agreements with outside vendors
Respond promptly to facility emergencies and operational issues to minimize guest impact and downtime
Prepare and recommend operating and capital budgets, and control expenditures within that budget
Plan, direct, oversee and supervise the purchasing of all facilities/engineering supplies, equipment, and services
Work closely with the Safety Risk Manager to ensure that safety issues are addressed
Manage departmental budgets, inventory, and purchasing of parts, tools, and supplies
Work with outside contractors on projects required by state and federal agencies as needed
Conduct regular property inspections to identify safety hazards, maintenance needs, and opportunities for improvement
Must have the ability to maintain composer in a potentially stressful environment
Must be able to work independently and unsupervised
Utilize the company work order system to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner

Qualification
Required
High School Diploma and/or GED required
Bachelor's degree, Trade School certification(s), or equivalent experience in lieu of education required
Minimum of 3 years in Facility/Engineering management
Strong knowledge of building systems, commercial kitchen equipment, and facility maintenance best practices
Working knowledge of gaming industry compliance requirements and regulatory inspections
Proven leadership and team management skills
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
Effective communication skills with staff, leadership, vendors, and regulators
Must be at least 21 years of age
Thorough knowledge in the use and teachings of safety practices and all state and federal safety laws
Ability to operate all equipment necessary for all maintenance and repair work on duty
Must be able to tolerate areas containing secondary smoke, high noise level, bright lights, and dust
Good verbal and written communication skills are a must
