Outside Sales Account Manager
Modern Recruitment Ltd. is supporting a well-established, growth-oriented organization in the industrial distribution space that is hiring an experienced Outside Sales Account Manager. This field-based role focuses on building long-term customer relationships, growing territory revenue, and providing consultative, solutions-driven sales support.
Responsibilities
Manage and grow your region through regular customer visits and relationship building
Develop new business and work to increase sales from active accounts
Act as a consultative partner by understanding customer needs and recommending solutions
Prepare quotes and proposals, negotiate terms, and close new and repeat business
Increase sales and margin through upselling, improved product mix, and reduced returns
Stay informed on market conditions, competitor activity, and customer needs
Participate in ongoing product and sales training to continuously improve effectiveness
Qualification
Required
3 to 5 years of outside, field-based sales experience
Comfortable selling technical or mechanical products into industrial environments
Strong relationship builder with a consultative sales mindset
Organized, self-directed, and effective at managing a large territory
Professional, high-integrity approach to customers and internal teams
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the territory
Preferred
Industrial distribution or technical product sales
Coatings, paint, or surface preparation products
Blasting, abrasives, or related consumables
PPE or safety-focused product sales
Construction, manufacturing, industrial maintenance, or MRO environments
