NEOGOV is seeking a Staff Development Specialist I for Cumberland County's Department of Social Services. The primary purpose of this position is to plan, implement, and assess training programs to enhance employees' skills while addressing training gaps and researching external resources.

Responsibilities
Plan, implement, and assess training programs to enhance employees' professional, administrative, and leadership skills
Assist with employment relations concerns and collaborate with staff development teams to identify training gaps
Research external resources and implement online learning solutions
Coordinate and assist in the development and delivery of specialized training
Conduct agency staff orientation and coordinate setup of equipment and software information for new employees
Use multimedia tools for effective knowledge transfer and evaluate training effectiveness through surveys and adjustments
Manage training logistics, including scheduling, room setup, and tracking agency training activities
Operate systems such as NeoGov, Munis, and Laserfiche, and prepare staffing reports
Assist with HR projects, such as internship coordination and job fairs, and conduct exit interviews
Update standard operating procedures and communicate findings with other Staff Development Trainers
Qualification
Required
Graduation from a four-year college or university and two years of experience in a human service program, counseling; training, or in an administrative support role in a staff development and training office; or graduation from high school and five years of progressively responsible experience directly related to training in the subject or specialty area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
The employee in this position will be operating motor vehicles for Cumberland County and shall have a valid North Carolina Driver's License

Law enforcement background and fingerprint check are required
Duties of this position require the use of the employee's personal vehicle
This position will require assisting in emergency and/or disaster situations
Preferred
Knowledge of Human Resources and employment practices
Experience with managing and maintaining NeoGov, Munis, and Laserfiche Systems
Knowledge of the NC Human Resource Act, FLSA, FMLA and Workman's Compensation

15-19 years of service 7.24 hours per pay period = 192 hours (24 days)
20+ years of service 8.19 hours per pay period = 216 hours (27 days)
All Employees 3.42 hours per pay period = 96 hours (12 days)
State recognized holidays off: New Year's Day, ML King's Birthday, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veteran's Day, Thanksgiving Day (2 days), and Christmas Day (3 days).
$0.54 reimbursement per mile driven using personal automobile for company business.
If you presently have an out-of state license, you must obtain a valid NC Driver's License prior to beginning employment with Cumberland County DSS.
