Collaboration Solutions Architect
Global Cellulose Fibers (GCF) is seeking an experienced Collaboration Solutions Architect within the End User Solutions organization to lead the strategy, design, architecture, and governance of collaboration and productivity solutions. The role involves providing architectural leadership for Microsoft 365 solutions and guiding day-to-day collaboration service expectations while driving measurable quality improvements.

Responsibilities
Define tenant‑wide standards for Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Teams, and Entra ID (lifecycle, retention, external sharing, compliance) while advocating for best practices
Establish provisioning patterns (Teams/site templates, naming, guest/external access) aligned to information security architecture
Manage Team platform calling and meeting quality in close collaboration with the Global Telecommunications organization
Assume service ownership of business collaboration platforms and services
Lead File Share to SharePoint Online migrations; standardize information architecture, ownership, and lifecycle across collaboration workspaces
Author architectural standards, governance policies, and operational handoffs; ensure clean pilot to production transitions with runbooks/SOPs
Maintain the M365 collaboration roadmap; publish health/adoption metrics and drive continuous improvement
Set day‑to‑day expectations with the MSP; oversee SLAs and platform health; serve as L2/L3 escalation point and drive RCA/prevention
Oversee SOPs/KBs lifecycle; implement shift‑left practices and service‑quality improvements
Deliver monthly webinars; build a champion community; create platform adoption playbooks with Communications; use feedback and metrics to improve user experience
Maintain regular stakeholder/MSP cadence to ensure alignment and outcomes
Partner with Cybersecurity on Conditional Access Policies; enforce secure external collaboration patterns
Guide identity lifecycle and manage SMTP relay interdependencies for collaboration services
Govern Entra ID app registrations & integrations; guide Guest/External Access models; ensure third‑party integrations adhere to standards and governance
Advise on Power Platform environment strategy, DLP, and licensing/capacity with Data & Analytics; promote responsible usage and automate insights where feasible
Assess data access/permissions, sensitivity labels/Purview, and Entra dependencies to enable secure Copilot scenarios
Identify Copilot use cases, run pilots, measure outcomes, and scale to production with runbooks and governance updates
Recommend license mix and reservations to balance cost and capability; automate licensing and reporting
Qualification
Required
10+ years in Microsoft 365, collaboration, and productivity architecture (Teams, SharePoint Online, Exchange Online, Entra ID, AD Connect)
3+ years Microsoft Exchange and/or SharePoint Lead/Architect
Experience with SMTP relay services and architecture
Proven experience in MSP shared governance: L2/L3 escalation leadership, RCA, SOP/KB development, and operational trend analysis
Experience with shifting between vendors while maintaining service levels
Proven success leading complex, cross-functional projects
Teams architecture and lifecycle governance; ability to optimize collaboration security and external/guest access in Entra ID
Hybrid identity expertise (on-prem AD, Entra ID) and experience managing on-prem SMTP relay interdependencies
Microsoft 365 Copilot readiness (data access, permissions hygiene, sensitivity labels/Purview), use case discovery, and adoption planning in coordination with Information Security
Platform Migration experience: File Share to SharePoint Online
Microsoft Licensing optimization and license reservation planning
Experience with vendor management and technical support
Excellent communication skills; ability to translate complex architecture for execs, stakeholders, and end users; lead monthly enablement webinars
Cross-functional leadership
Automation, scripting, and reporting (PowerShell, Graph API, Power BI)
Strong problem-solving skills
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field is preferred (or equivalent work experience)
Microsoft 365 Copilot implementation experience (readiness assessments, pilots, value measurement) and exposure to Copilot Studio/Graph API/plugins
Experience implementing and governing M365 security controls
Experience with on-prem to cloud migrations and architecture development
Familiarity with Azure and RDS
Microsoft Certifications
Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) governance and device lifecycle knowledge; Teams Voice/Direct Routing/SBC exposure (e.g., AudioCodes/Ribbon)
Advanced troubleshooting across collaboration, network, and voice (CQD, packet capture/Wireshark)
Product ownership practices (roadmap/backlog, Agile delivery) and proactive release/feature communication
Awareness of adjacent collaboration ecosystems (e.g., Zoom/Webex/Slack) for integration considerations
