Commissioning Engineer
Key Talent Solutions is focused on building a specialized talent pool for large-scale data center projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth market. The Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for validating systems, integrating controls, and ensuring operational readiness in mission-critical environments.
Responsibilities
Executing Level 1–5 commissioning (Cx) activities, functional testing, and integrated systems testing to verify equipment performs to design and redundancy requirements
Deploying, tuning, and validating BMS and EPMS platforms, including point-to-point testing, sequences, alarms, and trending
Identifying and mitigating risks that could impact uptime during startup, turnover, and early operations
Solving complex logic, controls, or hardware issues during testing and commissioning—methodically and under pressure
Producing accurate test scripts, results, deficiency logs, and O&M documentation to support a clean turnover to operations
Qualification
Required
3–5+ years of experience in Commissioning, Controls, or Critical Facilities Operations
Strong technical background in UPS systems, switchgear, generators, ATS, CRAC/CRAH units, and chilled water systems
Familiarity with industry-standard commissioning levels and testing protocols
Working knowledge of electrical safety (NFPA 70E) and lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures
Comfort working in active construction and startup environments alongside vendors and contractors
Preferred
Hyperscale or colocation data center experience
Background with OEMs or integrators such as Schneider, Eaton, Vertiv, Johnson Controls, or specialized commissioning firms
A zero-failure mentality —you understand the consequences of missed logic, bad alarms, or incomplete testing
