The Lead Software Development Engineer will collaborate with engineers to develop a platform for systems and software development teams across Lunar programs, ensuring the success of missions related to lunar infrastructure.

Responsibilities

Work with developers and program managers to architect and develop full-stack web applications

Train, guide, and mentor team members on full-stack development best practices

Set direction and goals for the team regarding the platform architecture and influence the feature roadmap

Collect and analyze customer data to understand and troubleshoot application usage and performance

Deeply understand the safety-critical software development process and find ways to create and apply tooling to make the process more effective and efficient

Required

B.S. or higher degree in computer science, computer engineering, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience

8 years professional experience minimum

Experience in developing and architecting full stack applications

Experience improving application stability through monitoring, analysis, thoughtful code reviews, and detailed feedback

Experience in database design (SQL, NoSQL, InfluxDB)

Experience with modern frontend frameworks (React, Next, or similar)

Experiences constructing RESTful APIs (Python, NodeJS, or Go)

Experience with Data Engineering pipelines

Experience with unit testing and test-driven development

Experience with Linux, Docker, Continuous Integration and Delivery

Experience using configuration as code tools to manage cloud resource and physical workstations (e.g.: Ansible, Vagrant, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.)

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Proven understanding of source control tools and concepts such as git workflows, versioning, branching

Preferred

Experience with ThreeJS, Rust

Experience with application performance monitoring and observability technologies (Datadog, ELK stack, Prometheus, Grafana)

Experience with Agile methodologies

Aerospace Industry experience with safety critical software and/or tools qualification activities

Experience with NPR 7150.2D

Experience with compiled languages, C/C++
