CNC Moldmaker / Programmer
Opti Staffing Group is a precision moldmaking shop located in Clackamas, OR, focused on high-quality tooling solutions. They are seeking a CNC Moldmaker/Programmer with strong Mastercam programming experience to program CNC machines and develop machining strategies for high-precision mold components.

Responsibilities
Program CNC machines using Mastercam (2D & 3D toolpaths required) to machine high-precision mold components from complex CAD models
Develop efficient machining strategies including roughing, semi-finishing, and finishing toolpaths
Set up and operate CNC mills, including high-speed machining equipment
Collaborate in kick-off meetings to plan mold build strategies, programming approaches, and machining sequences
Optimize programs for accuracy, surface finish, cycle time, and tool life
Prepare and interpret sketches, 2D/3D CAD data, and detailed job instructions
Inspect machined components to ensure tight tolerances before releasing to the next stage
Complete documentation and paperwork for mold assembly and job tracking
Operate multiple machines and assist with shop support tasks such as shipping/receiving when needed
Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused work environment
Communicate machine issues, tooling needs, and workflow updates to supervisors and team members
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or equivalent
Proven experience programming CNC machines using Mastercam (required)
Minimum 1 year of CNC milling experience in a precision machining environment
Strong understanding of shop math, geometry, trigonometry, and machining principles
Ability to work from complex CAD data and maintain close tolerances
Computer skills for programming, documentation, and inter-office communication
Hands-on Mastercam programming experience (2D & 3D toolpaths is mandatory)
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
High attention to detail with pride in precision workmanship
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50+ pounds (with equipment for heavier loads)
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Team-oriented mindset with a strong work ethic and reliability
Preferred
Experience programming complex 3D surfaces and mold components in Mastercam
Prior moldmaking experience (plastic injection, compression, or die cast)
High-speed machining experience and tooling knowledge
Experience optimizing programs for cycle time and surface finish
