Process Development Engineer, Cathode Materials Manufacturing
Tesla is seeking a highly motivated Process Development Engineer to join their Cathode team, focusing on Battery Cathode Materials. The role involves developing, implementing, and optimizing process improvements while applying engineering principles to enhance manufacturing capabilities.

Responsibilities
Apply engineering fundamentals and a broad set of process engineering tools to solve technical problems and create novel detailed designs to address root cause of issue
Identify and evaluate emerging technologies to drive innovation and enhance process capabilities through future phases
Utilize lab and pilot data to provide recommendations on quality improvements for cathode production process
Plan and execute Design of Experiments (DOE) to optimize existing processes and guide data-driven improvements
Provide process engineering support to manufacturing teams to help resolve process bottlenecks and other long-standing issues
Evaluate lab/pilot scale processes for future production scale applications, such as mixing, dosing, coating, drying, calcination, etc
Develop a detailed knowledge of multiple stages of the cathode manufacturing process
Qualification
Required
Degree or equivalent experience in Materials Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field
0-2+ years of experience in chemical Process Design, Process Improvement or Operations within a manufacturing industry such as semiconductor, specialty chemical, solar, battery, etc
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and presentation abilities
A positive attitude and ability to communicate with peers and stakeholders at all levels and engineering disciplines
Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment
