Contract Field Occupational Scientist (North America)
Synchron is a company focused on building non-surgical brain-computer interfaces to enhance human autonomy and expression. The Contract Field Occupational Scientist will support clinical trials by collecting data in home environments and collaborating with internal teams and study partners to ensure operational excellence in clinical research studies.

Responsibilities
Support the execution of clinical trials, including data collection in the participant's home environment
Support the review, analysis, and interpretation of clinical trial data
Support the development of clinical study data collection best practices
Apply subject matter expertise to support the preparation of clinical trial related documents
Disseminate up-to-date subject matter knowledge to the company
Work effectively with Synchron's internal teams and external partners, including study sites
Qualification
Required
Hold an occupational therapy degree (e.g., OTR/L, OTD). Other qualifications including (e.g., CCC-SLP, ATP) will be considered on a case-by-case basis
Prior experience working with clients with severe motor impairment
Experience with/knowledge of current outcome measures used in occupational therapy clinical practice
Experience with/knowledge of assistive technologies used by individuals with severe motor impairments
Experience in clinical research with human subjects
Expertise in good clinical practice
Experience working in cross-functional teams
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Exceptional organization skills
Highest level of academic integrity
Preferred
Experience working on clinical trials of medical devices, particularly in the field of neurotechnology
Up-to-date understanding of brain-computer interface (BCI) research and needs for clinical translation of BCI
Demonstrable academic output, including publications in internationally respected scientific and/or medical journals
