Responsibilities

Own manufacturing processes for spacecraft mechanisms from prototype through flight production
Develop and maintain work instructions, travelers, and tooling to enable safe, repeatable builds
Partner with design engineering to improve DFM/DFA, reliability, and production readiness
Support hands-on assembly, integration, and test of mechanisms on the production floor
Troubleshoot build and test issues, lead root-cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
Support mechanism-level functional, deployment, and environmental testing
Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and configuration control requirements
Drive continuous improvement in cost, schedule, yield, and manufacturability

Required

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
5+ years of hands-on experience in manufacturing engineering, production engineering, or process engineering
5+ years of hands-on experience with mechanical systems and precision assemblies
Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, GD&T and engineering specifications and procedures

Preferred

6+ years of hands-on engineering experience with spacecraft, satellite, launch vehicle, or aerospace mechanisms
5+ years of demonstrated experience transitioning hardware from development to flight production
Familiarity with cleanroom or controlled assembly environments
Demonstrated experience with mechanism testing and qualification, failure analysis and corrective action processes, engineering change orders (ECOs) and configuration management
