Design Engineer I
HBK - Hottinger Brüel & Kjær is a world leader in the fields of sensors, data acquisition and analytics. The Design Engineer I will be responsible for designing new products, validating their performance, and providing engineering support to customers.

Responsibilities
Uses SolidWorks to create 3D CAD models to design new products that satisfy customer or internal requirements in commercial, industrial, and military markets
Validates performance of designed products to meet operating parameters through simulation and testing
Creates or evaluates engineering assembly drawings, part drawings, specification sheets, manufacturing work instructions, manufacturing processes, and operating guides
Researches and utilizes engineering methodologies, techniques, and approaches to problem solving
Understands and specifies the use of various engineering materials
Interfaces with suppliers to meet desired design and procurement goals
Provides Engineering support to internal or external customers
Contributes to or direct prototype assembly process
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
0-2 years experience
Advanced computer skills, CAD (SolidWorks), Microsoft Office
Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and processes in a production environment
Ability to interface with various personnel at different levels of skills, knowledge, and experience
The ability to speak and write clearly on technical subjects to individuals and groups
Problem solving expertise and good organizational skills
Analytical Thinking: Able to approach problems methodically and apply engineering principles to troubleshoot and optimize sensor designs and manufacturing processes
Effective Communication: Capable of clearly conveying technical information to cross-functional teams including design, production, and quality assurance, both verbally and in writing
Team Collaboration: Works well in multidisciplinary teams, contributing ideas and supporting collective goals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Attention to Detail: Maintains high standards of accuracy in documentation, testing, and quality control, essential for precision sensor development
Adaptability: Comfortable working with evolving technologies and processes, and able to quickly learn new tools and systems relevant to sensor engineering
Initiative and Curiosity: Demonstrates a proactive attitude toward learning and continuous improvement, seeking out opportunities to enhance product performance and reliability
Time Management: Efficiently prioritizes tasks and manages workload to meet project deadlines and production schedules
Ethical and Safety-Conscious: Upholds safety protocols and ethical standards in all engineering activities, ensuring compliance with industry regulations
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
Must be a local candidate
This position requires the use of information that is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States full-time and will not require sponsorship either now or in the future to obtain an employment visa
Preferred
Familiarity with basics of the FEA is a plus
Familiarity with piezoelectric materials is a plus
