Richey May is seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager responsible for overseeing and managing all indirect tax compliance and audits. The role involves ensuring compliance with tax regulations, optimizing tax technology and processes, and leading a compliance team to manage documentation and audit defense.

Responsibilities

Manage and develop a compliance group of 6-8 members (U.S. and India staff)
File and review sales and use tax returns for all state jurisdictions
Resolve notices and guide staff in resolving notices
Serve as an account manager for multiple clients across all industry types
Assist in organizing and completing special projects for clients (name changes, account closures, back-filings, account reconciling, etc.)
Collaborate with the compliance department managers to direct and improve efficiencies/processes/performance of the department

Required

Candidates are required to have previous hands-on experience in a public accounting firm environment
Fluency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with pulling and manipulating from various software
At least 4-6 years of experience with indirect taxes at a large multi-state corporation or public accounting firm
At least 3-4 years of experience with preparing sales and use tax returns in a multistate environment utilizing sales tax preparation software specifically CorpSales
Experience with technical tax laws, regulations, and interpreting tax laws as it relates to sales tax compliance
High energy, positive, team-player mentality, and achievement driven

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics preferred
