Manufacturing Engineering Technician
PwrQ is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering Technician to support production output through hands-on technical work. The role focuses on executing physical improvements on the manufacturing floor, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineers, and troubleshooting production-related issues.

Responsibilities
Assist Manufacturing Engineers with first article and pilot builds
Identify, document, and communicate issues encountered during builds, including fit-up issues, unclear instructions, tooling gaps, or sequencing problems
Help validate assembly sequence, tooling effectiveness, and standard work before release to production
Build, modify, and repair carts, racks, tools, jigs, fixtures, and workstations to support manufacturing processes
Execute physical improvements that reduce waste related to motion, handling, waiting, rework, and transportation
Assist with layout changes, material flow improvements, and workstation setup
Support 5S implementation by creating shadow boards, tool holders, visual controls, and standardized work areas
Work directly with Manufacturing Engineers to support new and existing processes
Assist in developing, testing, and implementing tooling and fixtures designed by Manufacturing Engineers
Provide practical, hands-on feedback on manufacturability, ergonomics, safety, and ease of use
Support process trials, pilot runs, and engineering changes on the shop floor
Support production teams by troubleshooting assembly, tooling, and process related issues
Help implement corrective actions for recurring issues and assist with root cause investigations
Serve as a technical bridge between engineering and production during process changes
Assist with setup, adjustment, and maintenance of tooling, fixtures, and light equipment
Verify that tools and fixtures are safe, functional, and properly maintained
Support safe work practices and contribute to risk assessments for new or modified processes
Qualification
Required
Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent hands-on experience in manufacturing, fabrication, mechanical, or industrial technology
2+ years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing or production environment
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to build and modify mechanical assemblies, fixtures, carts, and tooling
Ability to read and interpret drawings, sketches, and basic work instructions
Comfortable working on the shop floor and collaborating with engineers and operators
Ability to work on the manufacturing floor for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working around industrial equipment, tools, and electrical assemblies
Preferred
Experience building mechanical assemblies, custom jigs, fixtures, carts, or shop tools
Familiarity with Lean manufacturing concepts (waste elimination, 5S, standard work) is a plus
Experience in electrical or mechanical assembly environments
Welding, fabrication, or basic machining experience is a plus
Strong problem-solving mindset with a bias toward action
