Responsibilities
Provide 24x7 production support through rotational shifts and on-call duties
Administer, monitor, and maintain databases in production and non-production environments
Manage backup, recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies
Perform proactive health checks and resolve performance bottlenecks
Manage database security, access controls, and compliance requirements
Execute database patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to resolve database issues
Perform incident management, root cause analysis, and documentation
Automate routine DBA tasks using scripting and tools
Maintain documentation for database procedures and configurations
Qualification
Required
IBM DB2 DBA (Mainframe DB2 / DB2 LUW / DB2 UDB) – Advanced (6–9 years)
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
6+ years of DBA experience with IBM DB2 / Mainframe DB2 / DB2 UDB / Informix
3+ years of DBA experience with SQL Server or Oracle
3+ years of DBA experience with MongoDB, Cassandra, PostgreSQL, Netezza, IIAS, or CosmosDB
Strong SQL scripting and database troubleshooting skills
Experience with backup/recovery, high availability, clustering, and performance tuning
Hands-on scripting experience (Shell, SQL, PowerShell, T-SQL)
Experience with monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, or Nagios
Understanding of database security best practices, audits, and license management
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced production support environment
Excellent communication and documentation skills

Informix – Advanced
Oracle DBA – Intermediate
Microsoft SQL Server – Intermediate
PostgreSQL DBA – Intermediate
MongoDB – Intermediate
Apache Cassandra – Intermediate
Microsoft SQL Azure – Intermediate
Exposure to cloud platforms (Azure, GCP)
Data Warehouse DBA experience
Experience with automation tools (PowerShell, Shell scripting, Ansible, Terraform)
Relevant database or cloud certifications
