Responsibilities
Provide 24x7 production support through rotational shifts and on-call duties
Administer, monitor, and maintain databases in production and non-production environments
Implement and manage backup, recovery, performance tuning, and disaster recovery strategies
Perform database health checks and proactively resolve performance issues
Manage database security, access controls, and compliance requirements
Coordinate database patching, upgrades, and migrations with minimal downtime
Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to resolve database-related issues
Handle incidents, perform root cause analysis, and document resolutions
Automate routine operational tasks using scripting and management tools
Maintain documentation for database procedures, configurations, and support processes
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience managing enterprise database environments
Provide 24x7 production support through rotational shifts and on-call duties

Microsoft SQL Server – Advanced (6–9 years)
Oracle – Advanced (6–9 years)
IBM DB2 (Mainframe DB2, DB2 UDB, DB2 LUW/zOS) – Advanced (6–9 years)
Informix – Advanced (6–9 years)
MongoDB – Advanced (6–9 years)
Apache Cassandra – Advanced (6–9 years)
Netezza – Advanced (6–9 years)
PostgreSQL, CosmosDB – Advanced experience
Strong SQL scripting and database troubleshooting skills
Automation using PowerShell, T-SQL, SQL, shell scripting
High availability, clustering, backup, and recovery experience
Database monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Azure Monitor, Nagios
Automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform
Database security best practices
Patching, upgrading, and database migration experience
Support for database audits and license management
Data Warehouse DBA experience
Cloud database exposure on Azure and GCP
Database-related certifications
Excellent communication and documentation skills
