Responsibilities
Own commercial contracting end to end , drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer, vendor, partnership, and strategic agreements
Partner closely with go-to-market teams to structure and close deals, balancing legal risk with speed and commercial goals
Provide clear, practical legal guidance on contract terms, deal structures, and negotiation strategy
Build and improve contract infrastructure by developing templates, playbooks, fallback positions, and negotiation guidelines as the business scales
Enable teams to move faster by creating self-service tools, documentation, and training for lower-risk agreements
Serve as a trusted cross-functional advisor , translating legal concepts into actionable, business-friendly advice
Support general legal work and special projects while helping improve legal processes and reinforce a pragmatic, solutions-oriented legal culture
Qualification
Required
A J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice law in Nebraska (or eligibility for admission prior to start)
3–5 years of relevant legal experience handling commercial contracts and transactional matters, preferably in-house
Strong commercial drafting and negotiation skills across SaaS, vendor, partnership, and data-related agreements
Business-minded judgment with the ability to balance legal risk, speed, and commercial objectives in a fast-paced environment
Clear, confident communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners
A process-oriented mindset, with experience building or improving contract templates, playbooks, or legal workflows
The ability to juggle priorities and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail and sound judgment
A continuous growth-mindset, with a focus on learning, embracing challenges, and continuously improving
A knack for creativity and innovation, bringing fresh ideas to the table and solving complex problems
